Overview:
WeCount empowered citizens to take a leading role in collecting and analyzing data about traffic and mobility in their own neighbourhoods. Using low-cost, automated road sensors (Telraam) and participatory citizen science methods, residents co-created evidence and insights to inform urban mobility policies. The project fostered civic participation and contributed to more sustainable, inclusive, and data-informed transport planning across Europe.

DŌ’s Role:
(Formerly Ideas for Change) – Leader of the Work Package on citizen engagement across case studies, and coordinator of the local citizen science pilot in Spain. DŌ designed and implemented the engagement methodology and facilitated collaboration between citizens, researchers, and policymakers to shape better mobility systems.
